Rediscover911.com Is Racist Disinformation
In December of 2009 the author of this site, a long-time 9/11 truth activist with a clear history of due skepticism and rationality, stumbled upon a 9/11 truth related website that was so idiotic and poorly written, while also being technically savvy and backed by relatively educated people, that it seemed to the author intended to make the movement look bad by association. The primary goal of the site is clearly to suggest that Israel, and less directly, a jewish, zionist plot, was responsible for the 9/11 attack, a theory that is not remotely supported by available facts and therefore holds an anti-Semitic tone to many people. It was also clear that the site had little interest in promoting 9/11 truth facts or activism.
The author of the site appeared to be J. Edward Kendrick, a dentist and 'charter member' of Medical Professional for 9/11 Truth, a group with dubious or limited involvement in the movement. Prominent members of the 9/11 truth movement soon began receiving irrational bulk e-mails from him and it was clear that he was spending a good deal of time promoting the site on social media sites, message boards and discussion forums. It was also clear to some that the site was programmed in a technically savvy way intended to enhance the sites search ranking, a feature that did not seem to correspond to the sites apparent lack of attention to logical detail. Finally, the site content and Ed's posting clearly attacked 911truth.org, including personal attacks on Janice Matthers, the sites director.
That's where the author of this site comes into the picture. With the intention of gaming Rediscover911.com's search results, he created Rediscover911.org so that anyone searching for information about the original site would also find information countering the hateful propaganda found there. The site took only a few hours to put together, was more or less a well intended knee-jerk reaction, and within a couple weeks had accomplished it's goal of getting in the search results.
Over the following months Rediscover911.com was able to secure endorsements from some of the least reputable people who claim involvement in 9/11 truth such as Kevin Barrett and Jim Fetzer. Wonky 9/11 truth related websites like WeAreChangeLA added the site to their list of links. Doing a search you started to see that the site was being promoted in some fairly odd places online. Despite all this promotion, traffic to the site has been low as few unbiased and rational people are interested in blaming Israel for the attack. However, the intended damage has been done.
Most recently, the site has been updated to give it a more credible appearance. That includes a meaningless statement about tolerance and the addition of a number of other people who are willing to add their names to project. The list includes Zan Overall, Dr. Tom Tvedten, Wendy Campbell, Judy Kemecsei, Jerry Mazza, Stephen Lendman, Adrian Salbuchi, T. Mark Hightower, and Tim Titrud. While the new site is less crazy-internet-fringe in appearance, the incidence of claiming that there is proof of Israel's involvement in the 9/11 attack is still prevalent. In addition Ed Kendrick continues to associate himself with websites like Prothink and media like "9/11 Missing Links" that are very obviously anti-Semitic in nature.
